The Town of Kitty Hawk is committed to maintaining and improving its roadway infrastructure to support safe and efficient travel for residents, visitors, and emergency services. This includes regular maintenance, repaving, stormwater improvements, and new construction projects.
Street Maintenance & State Aid
The Town receives annual funding from the North Carolina Powell Bill Program, which provides state aid to help municipalities maintain, repair, and improve non-state streets within their jurisdiction. These funds are used for activities such as:
- Street resurfacing and repaving
- Pothole and crack repairs
- Curb and gutter maintenance
- Sidewalk and drainage improvements
- Street signage and striping
