Project Description
Bike and pedestrian improvements are coming to Kitty Hawk – tell us how we can improve the way you bike, walk, and roll around Town!
Help Shape the Future of Walking, Biking, and Rolling in Kitty Hawk!
The Town of Kitty Hawk is developing their first Bike and Pedestrian Plan and we need your help! Share your ideas, experiences, and priorities to help shape a safer, more connected community for people of all ages, abilities, and demographics.
What is the Town Pedestrian & Bicycle Plan?
Funded and supported by NCDOT, the Bike and Pedestrian Plan will be a Council-approved document that sets the vision for multimodal transportation in the community, plans a connected and safe network for all road users, and identifies priority projects that improve the Town’s bike and pedestrian network.
How does the Town Pedestrian & Bicycle Plan work?
The project team will evaluate existing conditions and engage with the public and key stakeholders. Then, we will generate draft recommendations and a preliminary bike and pedestrian network informed by analysis of data and public feedback. We’ll bring these draft recommendations and network back to you so you can tell us if we got it right and what’s missing. We’ll refine and then bring a final draft plan for Kitty Hawk to comment on before presenting the document to Town Council for adoption.
When does the Town Pedestrian & Bicycle Plan begin?
Phase 1 engagement for the Kitty Hawk Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan launches on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026, through July 10.
Be sure to take our Bike and Pedestrian Travel survey and tell us how you get around Kitty Hawk before July 10.
Who can be involved in the Town Pedestrian & Bicycle Plan?
You! We invite all people who live, visit, work, or play in Kitty Hawk to get involved.
Why is a Town Pedestrian & Bicycle Plan needed?
To work toward a future where Kitty Hawk residents and tourists alike can safely and comfortably get to key destinations in Town.Project Timeline
