Early Voting

Early in-person voting for the 2025 Municipal Election will take place from October 16, 2025, to November 1, 2025.

Overview of Early Voting:

During the early voting period, voters may cast a ballot at any early voting site in their county.  This is different than Election Day, when registered voters must vote at their assigned polling place.  Each site will have all the ballot styles for a given election.

During the early voting period, voters may update their name and address on an existing registration record but are not allowed to change their party affiliation.

Please be sure to sign in all applicable areas for any changes made to your voter record.  Changes cannot be made without a signature.

On Thursday, Oct. 16, early in-person voting for the 2025 municipal elections in Dare County will begin at two locations—the Dare County Administration Building  (954 Marshall C. Collins Drive) in Manteo and the Kill Devil Hills Town Hall (102 Town Hall Drive).

Early voting will run through Nov. 1. Voting hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  through Oct. 31. On Saturday, Nov. 1, those hours are 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

During the early voting period, there is also “same-day registration” that allows individuals to register and immediately vote at the voting site. Those seeking to register and vote on the same day are required to provide proof of residence with a document that includes a current address.
