Kitty Hawk/Dare county Recycling Center
Located at 4190 Bob Perry Rd, adjacent to the Dare County Boat Ramp, the Recycling Center is a joint venture between the Town of Kitty Hawk and Dare County. The center is staffed daily to assist you in unloading and directing you to the correct disposal location.
The Kitty Hawk/Dare County Recycling Center operates from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. It is open on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until Noon. It is closed on Wednesdays, Sundays, and some Town Holidays.
Recyclables Accepted
The center accepts recyclable plastics, aluminum cans, steel cans, paper, cardboard, glass bottles and jars, scrap metal items, electronics, and white goods (i.e. appliances).
The center accepts used motor/hydraulic oil, gasoline, anti-freeze, and batteries.

Unacceptable Items
We cannot accept paint, any commercial debris including lumber, styrofoam or hot tubs and hot tub covers.
Lawn & Landscape Debris
The Town, also, does not accept lawn clippings, leaves, or brush. Lawn clippings and brush must be disposed of at the Dare County Landfill, 1603 Cub RD Manns Harbor, NC 27953.
The Town offers a chipping service in the spring and fall. This date is published on the Town website and in the Town newsletter.
Who Can Use Our The Kitty Hawk Recycling Center?
Any Dare County resident may bring materials for recycling to this location.
For Kitty Hawk residents only, the Recycling Center also accepts old furniture, minor residential debris, and other large items. Residents of Southern Shores and Duck may also drop off large items and minor residential debris after obtaining a permit from their Town.
