I got a traffic citation. What do I have to do now?

Traffic Citation Process

If you wish to waive:

Waivers may be made in person before the clerk or magistrate in the county where the case is pending, to the clerk of that county by mail, or pay online at www.payNCticket.org

If you wish to contest:

You have been scheduled for an administrative session of the court, where you will have an opportunity to speak with the District Attorney in an effort to resolve your case without a trial.  This is an informal session of court, so neither the officer nor a judge will be present.

If you wish to contest your ticket by pleading NOT GUILTY you MUST call the Dare County Clerk’s Office by 12:00 pm the day prior to your court date and reschedule your court date to the officer’s court date.  The number for the clerk’s office is 252-475-5200.,
