Town Makes Declaration in an Effort to Support Restaurants During COVID 19 Restrictions

At a special meeting on May 19, 2020, Kitty Hawk Town Council discussed how to support the local restaurant community  during COVID 19 restrictions. As a result of the meeting, a declaration was made to temporarily suspend certain sections of Town Code, and allow restaurants within the Town to use up 25% of their parking area for outdoor seating.  Restaurants cannot  exceed normal occupancy levels, and they may use a tent,  if they so desire.

Any restaurants utilizing this provision must still comply with any and all other applicable laws and regulations such as Dare Co. Health Department and NC Alcohol Law Enforcement.  The declaration may be modified as deemed necessary, and will expire when the State and Town declarations of State of Emergency are ended.
