The 2020 Census counts everyone living Dare County. A complete and accurate count is vital for the entire community. The Census is conducted just once every ten years as required by the United States Constitution. The basic data it collects helps to shape the future for you, your family, and your neighbors. It informs the allocation of funding for the community as well as determines the number of seats each state gets in Congress. Every person (both citizens and non-citizens) living in Dare County at the time of the Census must complete the survey.
