Dare County will be hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Collection in Kitty Hawk on Thursday, May 13, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The event will be held at Kitty haw Town Hall, 101 Veterans Memorial Drive in Kitty Hawk.
Acceptable Materials Include:
- Paint, polishes and varnishes
- Paint related materials
- Turpentine
- Aerosol cans
- Adhesives
- Motor oil
- Antifreeze
- Fuel additives
- Household cleaners
- Herbicides/Insecticides (etc.)
- Gasoline
- Batteries
- Mercury
- Pesticides
- Pool chemicals
- Fluorescent light bulbs
- Automotive batteries
- Small batteries
- Automotive fluids (brake, transmission, etc)
Items that are not accepted:
Commercial, business and industrial waste; Explosives; Bullets; Radioactive Material; 55 gallon drums of material; Cylinders (other than Propane, Fire Extinguishers)
