Be a Kitty Hawk Reserve Site Steward – Volunteer Today

Are you interested in volunteering with the NC Coastal Reserve and National Estuarine Research Reserve Program? The Site Stewards volunteer program may be for you! Site Stewards assist the Site Manager by maintaining public access and trails, monitoring site conditions, and helping with community-based projects in the Kitty Hawk Woods Reserve.

If you are interested, please join us for the first Site Stewards Training on Wednesday, December 15th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Kitty Hawk Town Hall (101 Veterans Memorial Drive).

During the training, you will learn about the NC Coastal Reserve and National Estuarine Research Reserve, how to report observations, job descriptions for volunteers, site specific information, safety, and how to interact with the public. By signing up to be a Site Steward, you will be making a valuable contribution to the stewardship of the Kitty Hawk Woods Reserve.

During the meeting, we will schedule a subsequent field trip in the Kitty Hawk Woods Reserve to review safety, trail maintenance standards, and reporting observations in the field.

To reserve your spot in this training, please email [email protected] with the subject “Site Stewards Training RSVP.”

To reduce the spread of COVID-19, all attendees should wear a mask and maintain social distance during the training.
